DMN names Craig Watkins as 2008 Texan of the Year

Citing his efforts at bringing justice to those wrongly convicted, in addition to his efforts to reform the system, the Dallas Morning News has named Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins its 2008 Texan of the Year.

The DMN story paints a picture of Watkins as more than just a reformer, however, making much of his complexity, including his no-holds-barred approach to those he prosecutes - going so far as to demand the death penalty in cases where the law of the land warrants it.
