WinStar World Casino to have grand opening on New Year’s Eve
With the official unveiling of its new gaming expansion on New Year’s Eve, WinStar World Casino will become one of the top five largest casinos in the world. The casino, which is just off Interstate 35 just one mile from the Oklahoma-Texas border, recently completed construction which doubled the size of its casino floor and nearly tripled the number of electronic gaming machines. WinStar World will celebrate its new expansion and status with a world-class New Years Eve premier and party.
“The WinStar World expansion is one of the biggest things to come to Oklahoma in quite some time and we believe our grand opening and premier will reflect that,” said Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Horner. “This celebration is going to be one for the ages.”
Horner says visitors to WinStar World can celebrate the opening of 2009 in any of the five new dazzling gaming plazas recently constructed at the casino. The expansion, completed this month, will transport guests to another world as they take in the sights of colorful fountains, hand-painted frescos and towering arches, traveling seamlessly through Paris to Beijing, on to Rome, Madrid and London.
The newly expanded 519,000 square foot casino will be hopping with excitement as the evening draws nearer to midnight and the naming of the Midnight Millionaire. At 12:10 AM on New Year’s Day the winner of the Midnight Millionaire drawing will be announced and one lucky winner will go home one million dollars richer.
The celebration doesn’t stop there. WinStar World Casino patrons will have a chance to see icons such as ZZ Top, Patty Labelle, and Tony Bennett as well as win one of five brand new cars and other prizes and giveaways being offered through the holiday weekend.
Highlighting each city or gaming plaza is a replica fountain from that city, an artists’ reproduction in marble that serves as a destination point, much like their counterparts do in cities throughout Europe and Asia. The hand-crafted fountains feature a minute-and-a-half water and light show every 15 minutes. Above each of these fountains hangs a hand-painted fresco depicting scenes from that international city.
But that’s not all. Eight dragons of Egyptian crystal hang over Beijing, eight-foot high lions dominate London, and statues of everything from urns, to knights to a ship, and 12-foot high chandeliers are featured throughout the casinos of the new WinStar World Casino. The casino floor measures a ½ mile from end to end.
“From the fountains and light show to the thousands of new games and big name entertainers, WinStar World Casino is committed to the highest standards, a measure of quality that extends well beyond the casino floor to include top-flight hospitality and outstanding dining options,” said Brian Campbell, CEO of WinStar World Casino. “Our goal in building this facility is not to be one of the largest casinos in the world but one of the best.”
In addition to its own New Year’s Eve party, Winstar World Casino is also a presenting sponsor of the 2009 edition of Big D/NYE, joining event organizers including WFAA, the Dallas Stars, House of Blues and American Airlines Center and Hillwood. The second annual Big D/NYE event will be held at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.

SteveM, it's not an ad: It's a clearly credited press release-- and we run many of them. We did not receive; nor have we ever received a nickel from Winstar.

Don't forget the first-ever in-casino 'day and night spa' features complete with 'door prizes galore'. According to an insider who 'peeked at the PR packages', expect drawings for 'on-site' breast enhancements' and coupons for 'slot machine Botox injections' by 'registered medical hostesses'. Reportedly, it will be possible to have 'therapeutic skin peels' and 'full body massages' while shooting craps.
