Expert to lecture on architectural conservation at Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth

John Stubbs will present a free lecture titled “A Global Tour of Architectural Conservation: Saving Our Past” on Friday, January 9, at 6 p.m. in the Kimbell Museum auditorium.

In his lecture, Stubbs will elaborate on some of the challenges the World Monuments Fund has faced and the efforts the organization has made in order to protect architectural heritage on every continent. He will discuss various WMF projects around the world, starting with Western Europe and ending with the Americas, giving particular focus to the WMF’s experiences in Cambodia at Angkor Wat, where he has worked for two decades.

Stubbs is the vice president for field projects for the World Monuments Fund in New York and coordinates several of the organization’s key architectural conservation projects in various countries.

He teaches International Conservation Practice at Columbia University and is presently completing a book that offers a global view of international architectural conservation practice.
