North Dallas man shot after realizing hold-up was not a joke

A North Dallas man held up in his driveway late Monday initially thought the ordeal was a friend playing a trick on him. He swatted the gun away, after which the two had a struggle and the victim was shot in the chest. Neighbors heard the gunshot and called the paramedics. The man is in serious condition.

*Neighbors heard the shot and went outside to check. The suspect ran from the scene without the victim's wallet.*

What kind of douchebag threatens with a gun trying to get a wallet, then doesn't pick up the wallet after making good on his threat?

Doing it wrong.

ScoDo - not to burst your bubble, but let's just remember that it's not like in "Career Day" at high school where you're faced with the choice "Fullbright Scholarship to Harvard Medical or Petty Theft?"

These are not usually the next-gen Stephen Hawkings waving sidearms, right?

Surely this cat was only after cash, b/c I'm pretty sure anybody who just got mugged is canceling their CC's. Now that you've shot somebody in plain sight of the neighbors, USE the cash to gtfo of the state/country/continent.

But I concede. If dude's so wreckless to go about this the way he did...it wouldn't matter if he got the money or not.
