Richard Roper, U.S. attorney for North Texas, resigns post
Richard Roper, the head U.S. attorney for such notorious cases as the ones against the Holy Land Foundation and the multitude involved in the Dallas City Hall corruption scandal, has resigned his post effective Tuesday. Roper will be joining the private law firm of Thompson & Knight as a partner. Roper's resignation had been expected since he was a George W. Bush appointee, and Barack Obama will be naming his own attorneys soon.
