DALLAS Collier Chimney was arrested on Saturday morning for stabbing his roommate Brian Brokenberry to death. According to the DMN, they lived in a dilapidated crack house in the 6700 block of La Grange Drive near Bonnie View Road and Interstate 20; the stabbing was witnessed by several other housemates, and Chimney said Brokenberry was a bully.

I wonder at what point you can refer to a residence as a crack house, without the residents threatening to sue for libel?

That guy is so full of it! If you read all his posts, he's like Zelig....he was jewish, he's a fundie christian, his wife is hispanic, he's almost a lawyer, he was here, there, everywhere....
I'm tired of this. Responding to all your crap and the crap from others has been a huge waste of my time.
I'm unsubscribing from Pegasus as soon as I get to work.
Good day and good riddance.

CastleHills:
We really appreciate your ongoing particpation in discussions here, but we're not going to tolerate ongoing and off-topic snipes at users with whom you disagree.
That's for everybody else, too. This is not another Sanders Kaufman situation where Mike McCullough is turning every single topic into a pet national political issue. It happened once, and he apologised. Otherwise, whether you agree with him or not, he brings some diversity in opinion. And he'd said nothing on this topic to merit it becoming about him.
For those who missed it this weekend, please see my rumination on ad hominem discussion here:

My apologies to the Brokenberry and Chimney families that the discussion on this story took such a turn. I'll create a blog post about inclusiveness and conversation later today where we can discuss that to our heart's content, but in the meantime let's keep our squabbles out of the crack house, OK?

For the record, I kinda like Mike Mac's presence. I don't care about any of the religious stuff, and he presents himself in a mostly respectable manner (imo).
I dig CastleHills, too. Hopefully both of y'all calm down and stick around.
As for the families and friends of these guys in the article, I was just joshin' about the situation presented - nothing personal.

It's ok. This thread also followed the 'local Dallas death' arc with one minor exception:
1) death related item posted 2) B-sharp level humorous comment posted 3) contrite apologies
Missing from this example: fevered posting about how comedians 'don't know the whole story.' Followed by 'not the whole story.'

whofarted: I've known people like that. Absolutely brilliant, head off to college, excelling... and then suddenly they're huffing spray paint out of a bucket and when you stop by to hang out they're not wearing any pants. I know a guy who was inching towards that last stage the last time I saw him, and I hope he doesn't end up the same way.

DC: Meh, I didn't apologize, just said it's nothing personal. Regular users probably know by now that I don't regret it.
And considering I can only get away with one of these at a time before I'm cast off to the depths of hell by one user or another, I've learned to restrain myself.
