Fort Worth chef Tim Love to open second branch of Love Shack in Dallas’ Victory Park

— Fort Worth chef Tim Love will open a second branch of his chef-driven burger joint Love Shack in the Victory Park complex near downtown Dallas, scoops Bud Kennedy at the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

A spokesman at the original branch in Fort Worth's Stockyards district said that Love is targeting April 1 as the opening date, and that there'll be more extensive seating than the funky picnic-bench setup in the courtyard next to the White Elephant Saloon in Fort Worth, with Victory Park to get outside seating and an inside glass-enclosed dining area.

Burgers are an always-controversial topic, but Love Shack's -- a 50-50 combo of tenderloin and brisket -- are among the awesomest ever. His Love burger comes with crunchy housemade pickles while his Dirty Love Burger has bacon, lettuce, tomato, "love sauce", cheese, and a fried quail egg. Their fries are bleh, but the shake has a constantly changing flavor-of-the-day, with Sunday's chocolate mint and Thursday's chocolate-espresso mocha -- with finely ground coffee beans mixed throughout -- at the top of the list.
