Capitalizing on the excitement surrounding the SMU football program, the Mustangs have signed 28 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, Head Coach June Jones announced on Wednesday, February 6.
Of the 28 signees, two have already enrolled at SMU, two are junior college transfers and 24 are high school student-athletes. The Mustangs landed a crop of players from across the nation, signing players from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Virginia.
"While we did get a late start on the recruiting process, I was amazed at the level of talent available," said Jones. "We received over 2,000 tapes and DVDs over the past few weeks and were contacted by numerous talented players. SMU has become a very attractive option for standouts from Texas and across the nation. I truly believe this is the start of a very exciting time at SMU."

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
