City of Dallas finally designates land for proposed convention center hotel
Photo not provided by the City of Dallas
DALLAS According to a story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears the City of Dallas has at long last chosen the spot for the proposed Convention Center Hotel. Dallas is currently the only major U.S. city without a convention center hotel.
The process has been stalling for the past 20 years, and the land is still not technically under contract, but hope is running high that the Dallas City Council will agree to set aside four acres near the current Convention Center for a planned 1,000 room, four-star hotel. Once the land is officially chosen, it should be no more than another 45 years at the most before the hotel is actually built and ready for business.
