Pet store owner in The Colony abandons store with pets still inside

The owner of Pet Tails Pet Store in The Colony abandoned the shop for over a week, leaving animals inside with no food or water. When the store was discovered, two hamsters and two snakes were found dead. All the living animals have been placed in homes.

i'm not quite sure why CBS 11 doesn't NAME the owner chris peacock, as does the Star (from whom CBS 11 undoubtedly lifted the story). this is the same chris peacock who was posting everything-must-go! ads on craigslist in january. he appears to have initiated a change in careers, if you go by his ads for aquarium maintenance and home remodeling

It still baffles me that people mistreat animals as an afterthought. Why didn't he just sell them for a dollar and be done with it? But no. Leave them inside to die and then end up going to jail at some point.
