Dallas No. 1 on Forbes list of “Best Cities For Couples”
Dallas tops the list of the "Best Cities For Couples," as designated by that ultra-romantic magazine Forbes.
The list is designed for unmarried couples, which the magazine acknowledges is difficult to track, since they don't share a last name or tax return. In any case, in order to forecast what this "growing demographic" needs to maintain a stable relationship, they've run the numbers on the largest 40 metropolitan areas in the U.S. regarding:
- 1. marriage and divorce rates for the 20- to 34-year-olds that live there
- 2. affordability of a starter home
- 3. income disparity and
- 4. availability of family counseling.
Along with Dallas, Houston (#2), Austin (#5), and San Antonio (#7) also made the top 10 list, which leaves only 6 slots for cities in other states.
Lest you think the timing of this story -- a week before Valentine's Day -- is coincidental, rest assured that it is definitely, unquestionably not.
