SXSW music lineup includes local acts
Why see them here when you can fight the crowds in Austin?
AUSTIN — Late last week, the list of official SXSW shows was announced.
bigDlittled, although still living in exile in Seattle, was first to cull a list of the local-sh acts. Here's who is on deck...

I don't even want to hear about the greatness of SXSW. It is a torture to music fans! You can't get into any of it unless you are "somebody in the industry" - not really even club gigs. I'm sure it's an important and useful event for networking and signing, etc. But it frustrates me to death!
If anyone has any insight into how a person with no connections (i.e. regular joe) can ever enjoy/benefit from SXSW, I would be thrilled to know about it. I swear, it's a dangling carrot -and I guess that makes me, well, you know.

The best thing about SXSW is the spillover here in Dallas and Denton. I'm looking forward to seeing a few national acts that would otherwise skip our metroplex.
I'm also looking forward to catching some of these local bands when they come back to town high on the energy from SWSX.

If it's any consolation to you, littlekinder, it's at least as hard for an artist with no connections to enjoy/benefit from SXSW.
