Tyler Technologies, Inc. announced today that, after being selected from other companies through a competitive procurement process, it has reached an agreement to provide its Education Management solution to the Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) in Charlottesville, Virginia. ACPS will implement a full suite of Tyler’s school information software, as well as corresponding professional services, maintenance and support.

Dennis Nissley, coordinator for student databases for ACPS, explained that the District was looking for a system that could meet its current needs, as well as respond to its future needs and goals. “Albemarle County Public Schools sought a parent/teacher portal with secure access to real-time student data via the Internet. We also wanted a centralized database with multi-year reporting and analysis capabilities, as well as an integrated grade book for Windows-based and Macintosh-based systems. Our current system doesn’t offer these features or flexibility, which is why we decided to purchase Tyler’s Education Management solution,” he said.

Albemarle County Public Schools educates approximately 12,750 students from pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 at 26 schools. The county is home to more than 90,000 residents and is located approximately 100 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.
