SXSW further eradicates cachet by hooking up with Wendy’s and Dr Pepper sponsorships
In a special promotion, participating Wendy’s restaurants in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico are giving out codes to download free songs from "established and emerging artists".
Customers who buy a large combo meal with a Dr Pepper will be given a code to download one free song from Dr Pepper rocks, where they can also find bios, tour dates, etc. Visitors can download up to 33 songs throughout the promotion, which runs through Feb. 29.
SXSW has sold its soul signed on Wendy’s and Dr Pepper as sponsors of its Music and Media Conference scheduled for March 12-16 in Austin.
A sweepstakes at Dr Pepper rocks offers 10 grand-prize trips to the conference including lodging, plus SXSW hats, T-shirts, and Wendy’s gift cards.

how dare you criticize somebody, for doing some things. clearly you just don't understand things which are Very Important. this is a great opportunity for some stuff to happen, regardless of what effect it has on things that are unrelated to money, which is the only thing that matters anyway. when will pegasus finally sel...err grow up?

Ive lost all respect for SxSW over the last year, In particular when they started going after "non-sanctioned" private parties being thrown by individuals/groups during the conference, not to mention they called the Austin FD on these parties and had them shut down due to "fire code" issues they made up on the spot.
