For the second time this season, Texas Wesleyan University’s Kennith Gober has been selected as the Red River Athletic Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week. Gober took the honor for the period of February 4-10.

Gober, a junior guard from Waxahachie, TX, delivered for the Rams in a pair of conference wins last week. In a 60-58 win over Langston, he poured in 14 points including a tip-in at the final buzzer that provided the difference. Then, in a match-up with the second place team in the RRAC, Texas College, Gober scored a career-high 24 points as the Rams won, 75-64. For the week, he was 15-of-29 from the field (51.7%) and 6-of-13 from three-point range.

The 22nd ranked Rams maintained their hold on the top spot in the conference at 9-2 in RRAC play and 16-8 overall. They will return to the court on Saturday, when they host Southwestern Assemblies of God University. That contest is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
