Off-duty Dallas police officer charged with assault

Off-duty Dallas Police Officer Michael Yarbrough was charged with investigation assault (family violence) by the Dallas Police Department.
At about 2:00 AM Wednesday morning, Feb. 13, Officer Yarbrough was involved in physical altercation with his girlfriend in the 4700 block of Haverwood. Family violence detectives will investigate the offense.
Officer Yarbrough, a 10 year veteran, is currently assigned to Southeast Patrol and has been with the Dallas Police Department since September of 1997. He will be placed on Administrative Leave and the incident will be referred to Internal Affairs Division for an investigation.
