Sgt. Jayson Steele, fighter for truth, justice and the American way. (O.K., this isn't really a picture of Jayson Steele, but it oughta be.)
Sgt. Jayson Steele (wow, GREAT cop name!), a nine-year veteran with the Southlake Police, has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into whether he released "confidential information" to the mayor, city council and the media, according to his attorney.
The charges stem from allegations involving Police Chief Wade Goolsby, who another officer stated used department equipment for personal business. That officer (10-year veteran Lt. Mike Kenny) was fired after making a formal complaint.
There's an ongoing grand jury investigation into allegations of favoritism within the department and reported special treatment of prominent Southlake residents.
