The City of Arlington will only partially shut down operations for the big Presidents Day holiday coming up on Monday (Feb. 18), and if you were planning to transact business at the municipal court, library or parks department administrative offices then you might as well put those plans on hold; perhaps trek on over to one of the fine Arlington municipal golf courses (which will be open for business) for a round of nine - or whatever insider term you golfers use for playing that silly, Freudian-subliminals-laden game. (Holes? Balls? CLUBS, for cripes sake?)
Closings by the numbers:
The Arlington Municipal Building
The Municipal Office Tower
Arlington Municipal Court
George W. Hawkes Central Library
All Branch Libraries
Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office
Senior Recreation Center at Eunice
Handitran Administrative Office
Arlington Housing Authority
Animal Services Center
Open for business as usual:
Cliff Nelson Recreation Center
Dottie Lynn Recreation Center
Hugh Smith Recreation Center
Hugh Smith Indoor Pool
Elzie Odom Recreation Center
Meadowbrook Recreation Center
Senior Recreation Center at New York closes early at 3 p.m.
Arlington Tennis Center
All Municipal Golf Courses
NOTE that scheduled garbage and recycling pickups will come off as usual.

GWAR / Kingdom of Sorrow / Toxic Holocaust Only lead singer Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) has stuck around since GWAR's start 23 years ago, but the huge costumes, raunchy and obscene lyrics, and fluids spraying into the audience are sure to be on full display as the metal band makes its return to Dallas.
