In the Crusaders' final home game of the season, the men’s basketball team came away with the win, 79-62. Prior to the start of the game, special recognition went out to seniors Nick Netsch (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.), Joe Packard (Lindale, TX/Lindale H.S.), and Zack Rodriguez (Ennis, TX/Ennis H.S.) for the commitment to the team.

The leading scorers included Packard with 26 points, sophomore Jim Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy) with 17, and Netsch with 14. Packard also led the team in rebounding with 10. Packard shot 75% from the field, converting 8 out of 12 opportunities. The team as a whole shot an astounding 61.9% from the field. Packard’s 26 point, 10 board night gave him his second double-double of the year. Netsch and sophomore Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan/Nile C. Kinnick H.S.) added 9 rebounds apiece. Norton also led the team with 4 assists.

This was certainly a fitting end to the Crusaders season at home, but don’t forget to follow their progress in the DIII Independent Tournament in Orange, CA.

Depending on seeding, the Crusaders will play UC-Santa Cruz, Chapman U., or Nebraska Wesleyan University February 29 & March 1.
