DALLAS Chris Ward, executive chef of Mercury Grill, will join celebrity chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, Rachel Ray, Mario Batali, and Todd English at the Food Network's South Beach Wine & Food Festival, taking place in Miami Beach February 21-24.
Ward is the only Texas chef selected to participate in the "Best of the Best" event, hosted by Wine Spectator Executive Editor Thomas Matthews, wherein 40 of the world's top wineries pour their finest reserves.
Other Dallas chefs participating will be Fearing's Dean Fearing and Abacus' Kent Rathbun (whose Jasper's restaurant was recently named by Bon Appetit magazine as a runner-up for best barbecue in America), who will serve barbecue specialties at the Moet & Chandon Bubble Q event hosted by Giada De Laurentiis.
Now in its 7th year, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival showcases wine and culinary personalities, with more than 25,000 expected to attend.
