TCU partners with Center for Strategic and International Studies

A series of public policy dialogues to be held among government officials, think-tank scholars and prominent journalists will be co-sponsored by the Schieffer School at Texas Christian University, and hosted by Face the Nation ringmaster Bob Schieffer himself.

The sessions will be held at the Washington headquarters of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), which we're pretty sure is not affiliated in any way with the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), parent org of infamous rogue field agent and patriotic hero figure Jack Bauer.

The first session of the monthly dialogue series will occur on Feb. 27 at 5 p.m., with the topic of discussion being the status of U.S. actions in Afghanistan. Participating (in addition to host Schieffer) will be R. Nicholas Burns, Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs and former NATO ambassador; Lt. Gen. David Barno, U.S. Army (ret.), director of the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (wow, that outfit has almost as many compass references as East Northwest Highway!); Pulitzer Prize winner Steve Coll, CEO of the New America Foundation and staff writer for the New Yorker; and Rick Barton, co-director of the Post Conflict Reconstruction Project at CSIS.

In order to view/listen in on the CSIS-Schieffer School programs, tune in to their website. You can also put yourself on their email list to receive program notices in advance, by sending your email address to Nancy Styles at nstyles@tcu.edu.
