Keller revisits, approves disputed Clean Fleet Vehicle plan
In January the Keller City Council voted down a Clean Fleet Vehicle plan that would replace all 2003 and older city vehicles with new, lower polluting models. After getting flack from Keller citizens and the, oh, 46 other cities in the area who adopted the regional resolution, Councilmember Mark Harness (who voted against it initially) brought the issue back to the table. With amended language that will purportedly allow the council to make related decisions in the best interest of the city, the resolution was passed 4-1. Councilmember Jim Carson voted against the measure both times, while Harness and Councilmember Ray Brown changed their minds.
By approving the measure, Keller is now eligible to apply for grants to fund city road projects.
