TCU sophomore Neidra Covington was selected as the Mountain West Conference women's indoor track and field athlete of the week on Tuesday.

This past weekend, Covington finished first overall in the women's long jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 6.13m (20-01.50) at the Tyson Invitational. She followed by placing seventh overall in the women's triple jump, leaping to an NCAA provisional mark of 13.11m (43-00.25).

Her triple jump mark was a personal-best, breaking her previous school record and giving her the conference lead in the event this season. It is currently her second-consecutive NCAA provisional and 12th best mark in the NCAA.

Covington's long jump mark is currently ranked in the top-30 in the nation and is the second longest in all-time MWC history. Overall, she competed against a nationally ranked field, including athletes from No. 1 LSU, No. 3 Michigan, No. 5 Stanford and No. 7 Arkansas.
