UT Arlington men’s tennis’ Costa named player of the week

Freshman David Costa won all three of his singles matches this week, finishing 2-0 at No. 1 and 1-0 at No. 2 to earn him his first SLC Player of the Week nod.
Costa won in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 over Mark Rodgman of Centenary at the No. 1 singles, while also in the top spot winning 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 over Cameron's Jordi Mullor. Playing in the No. 2 position, Costa fought back to win 6-1, 6-2 after dropping his first set 3-6 to UALR's Edson Abrao. With partner Dmitry Minkin, the duo went 2-1 on the week as the No. 1 doubles.
The Mavs will be back in action at New Mexico State on Sunday, March 2.
