Scott McDearmont

Highland Village City Council member Scott McDearmont has decided that he wants to stay on the job.

McDearmont, a surgeon at Medical Center of Lewisville, had previously announced that he was not running for re-election due to increasing demands at the hospital.

"On further consideration, and some reorganization of my ongoing schedule, I have made the decision to run for re-election to Place 6 on Highland Village City Council," said McDearmont in a statement released Thursday.

So far, no one else has filed to challenge McDearmont. >
