Several bits of news regarding the upcoming AFI Dallas International Film Festival:
The opening night film has been announced - it's Then She Found Me, the first ever movie directed by Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt, which will screen at the Majestic Theatre on March 27. Hunt will be in attendance.
According to AFI, the movie (which also stars Hunt, along with Colin Firth, Bette Midler, and Matthew Broderick) chronicles the trials and midlife tribulations of a New York schoolteacher with parent and husband issues.
Tickets to all screenings and festival events will go on sale beginning March 7, when a complete schedule will also be available.
And finally, on March 7 at 9 p.m. you can celebrate Savor Dallas by attending (and, hopefully, enjoying) a free movie screening on the high-def media screens at Victory Park. A guy named Gary Cogill (some kind of local film critic or something) will host the evening's entertainment, centered on a showing of the sentimental foodie flick, No Reservations.
