Kidd and the Mavs weren't fooled Sunday night

The Dallas Mavericks once again got a highlight-reel performance from the new guy Sunday night, as Jason Kidd dished out the pinpoint passes en route to a 99-83 win over the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Kidd broke his own Mavericks season record for assists, set last game, with 17 more against the Timberwolves. The win brings the Mavericks to 37-19, a game behind both the Spurs and Hornets for first place in the ultra-competitive Southwest Division.

Kidd finished with just 12 points, but his passing provided wide-open shots for the Mavericks all night, as Dallas shot a respectable 45% from the field. Kidd also added 7 rebounds and four steals to round out his night against one of the NBA's worst teams.

Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs in scoring, with 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting, as well as collecting 8 rebounds. Jason Terry put up 20 points, while Josh Howard added 14 and 7 boards.
