I saw Barack Obama today in Duncanville after having seen and heard him 6 days prior @Reunion. I also have been to see all the others, (both Clintons...having 'met' Bill yesterday at Mountain View rally) and then McCain tomorrow. For you who could and don't…. shame on you. Yes it has been cold and wet and early outside. Yes the lines and waiting have often been 2 ½ hrs. And then, voila…there within feet of you is someone who has been president or first lady and/or might be the next president. How can one be cavalier about this amazing week in Dallas and areas surrounding?
This is and has been an unprecedented opportunity to be part of something historic.... and by that I mean the 2008 presidential election. Period. What I keep reading and hearing online, in print and blogged and com-boxes is youtube link redux, but I have seen and met and listened to some very big players on the world/American stage this last week...handed to me on a silver primary Texas toast platter.
No, I do not have nor use a press pass. No perks. I’m not been there representing anyone or any media; I have been there as an American voter and a proud Texan, since we are FINALLY playing a role in this volatile (and interminable) process. I'm paying attention, and it is not only informative but formative. Only in America.
As Michelle Obama undoubtedly meant, this is a proud moment in my adult life…. And that goes for all of them I have seen and heard. How these candidates keep up this pace is beyond me, and I am one energizer bunny. It’s amazing. I proudly repeat; Only in America.

Take it back about seeing John McCain in Dallas on Friday. That's a $2,300 per person ticket when Barack, Hillary and Bill were all free. *What does THAT tell ya'*. I'm sleeping in!

Barack's all well and good, but I sure wish his campaign would stop auto-dialing my wife's cell phone!

David, I'll have to agree with you. I had to turn off my email notifications on my cell because so many emails come in everyday, even at 2 & 3 in the morning! I wanted to know what was going on in Dallas with the campaign, but that many emails is insane!

I feel about auto-dial promo recordings on my cellphone or land line as I do hearing President and Laura Bush are moving to my hometown Dallas. Or as I tried to explain to a drunk neighbor making a pass at my next door neighbor's stripper half-sister; it's always expensive and unwelcome most of the time.

Hillary's campaign is doing her fair share of calling. 5 calls today to our office. Answering the phones is slowly killing me on the inside.
