Sorry for the extra e-intrusion this week, but we had some things that just couldn't wait until Friday. This won't be a regular thing, we promise...
New user profile and activity ticker
We've just made a major upgrade to your user profile page -- one that you'll want to check out. You can now upload photo avatars (that will also show up beside your comments). More importantly, we've given you an easy way to track the events, places, organizations and bands that you've favorited -- as well as the things that your friends on the site are saying and doing. Get the whole scoop here.
One important thing to note: By default, any registered user can "favorite" you. That's a one-way street, so you won't be annoyed with irrelevant updates from people you don't want to hear from. However, if you like, you can set your user profile so that you have to approve anyone who wishes to favorite you.
Free Savor Dallas tickets!
We've just started our annual contest to win up to $700 worth of Savor Dallas tickets. This was a big hit last year, and we wanted to let you know ASAP, because most of the prizes are geared around restaurant reviews posted between last night and next Tuesday. So, we were afraid that some of our Friday-only readers might find themselves too far behind by the time the regular newsletter went out. Click here for all the details: There are thirteen prizes up for grabs, so there's lots of opportunity to win!
Free tickets to Pegasus News' first Local Music Showcase!
This one isn't even a contest -- by virtue of being a registered PegNews user, you automatically get free tickets to our show at Club Dada on Friday. All you need to do to claim them is to go to the show page and click the link that says "Add to favorites." We'll email you a ticket on Friday morning. Airline, Farstar and Watching Cars are going to be playing sets that will be filmed to air on television via Dallas iMedia. With free tickets, there's no reason not to come out and support these bands if you already love 'em or to discover them if they're new to you.
Thanks for spending time with us. If it's well-spent, please tell all your friends. -- And let us know how we can make DFW an even better place for you.
