According to a story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears that Texas has taken the #3 spot in having had the most foreclosures for the month of January.
According to the report, nearly 15,000 homes in Texas began foreclosure proceedings, an increase of 20% from December. It does represent a small decrease from last January, however.
California and Florida took the top two spots, as the nation as a whole continues to be hard-hit by a seemingly unstoppable surge of foreclosures. Almost a quarter-million homes entered the foreclosure process in January, an 8 percent increase from December, and a startling 57% increase from last January.
