Kseniia Tokarieva was named Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday. Tokarieva earned the honor after going undefeated in both singles and doubles last weekend.

Tokarieva, a junior, is in her first season with the Mustangs and has made an immediate impact. Playing in the second and third singles slots, Tokarieva defeated both her weekend opponents. Against C-USA rival Houston, she beat Leila Salek at No. 2 in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Sunday, Tokarieva dispatched Erika Iriarte of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, blanking her, 6-0, 6-0.

As part of the 38th-ranked doubles pair in the country, Tokarieva paired with teammate Nicole Briceno to defeat Wasson/Kacprzyk of Houston, 8-3, and Iriarte/Dyckman of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, 8-2. The win at No. 2 doubles over TAMUCC clinched the doubles point for SMU.

Tokarieva is 8-2 in singles and 8-1 in doubles so far this season. This is the first weekly honor for the former All-SEC performer.

The No. 60 Mustangs are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 27 against crosstown rival No. 33 TCU in Ft. Worth.
