Friday
- This weekend at Reflection is an opening reception for JD Miller's "Envelope of Live and coincides with their weekly Friday Night Gallery Series.
- Dunn and Brown Contemporary is opening an art show inspired by the victims of Hurricane Katrina. David Bates' "The Storm" will feature a variety of large and small oils on canvas, as well as watercolors and charcoal works on paper.
- Also, don't hesitate to make it out to Club Dada for the very first Pegasus News Music Showcase.
Saturday:
- The South Dallas Cultural Center is hosting "Comfort Woman - A Tribute to Black Lesbians." This awesome celebration will include music, spoken word, theater, dance, film, a panel discussion, and vendors.
- La Reunion Tx launched a call for entries for ‘Make Space for Art’ on September 17, 2007. They will be hosting a party announcing the winners at Pan American Art Projects. The live music will be provided by Escalator Maintenance Society, a small ensemble featuring toy pianos and cello that boasts Jason Roberts and Tim Ruble from The Happy Bullets and Kris Youmans from The Paper Chase.
- Afterimage Gallery is opening an exhibit with a book signing featuring the work of LIFE magazine photographer John Loengard. His assignments from LIFE were very diverse, covering such subjects as Georgia O’Keeffe, The Beatles, T.S. Elliott and many other notables.
