Overhead Door Corporation, the nation’s leading manufacturer of overhead doors and openers for residential, commercial and industrial construction applications, today announced that its Access Systems Division (ASD) purchased the assets of ANKMAR’s CladPanel door division located in Sweet Home, Ore. ANKMAR was launched in 1956 as a Denver-based garage door installation and service firm. In 1974, ANKMAR manufactured its first wood doors and, by 1978, had pioneered the CladPanel composite doors.

“Adding a well-known and respected product like CladPanel doors to our portfolio is consistent with our growth initiatives and complements our existing product lines,” said Dennis Stone, president and chief executive officer of Overhead Door Corporation. “We’ve seen industry sales on wood garage doors double over the past two years. Enhancing our line with an eco-friendly wood composite residential garage door is a natural progression.”

CladPanel doors panels are made from resin-bonded wood composites and finished with tough resin overlays that are specifically formulated to resist moisture. The doors are made from more than 85 percent recovered and recycled content.
