Gilligan's Island: The Musical preview

  • Where: Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 Avenue H, Plano
  • Cost: $0.01 - $10

Rover Dramawerks is excited to announce a change in their 2007-08 season. Rover is pleased to present the regional premiere of Gilligan's Island: the Musical instead of the previously announced Grotesque Lovesongs, scheduled for June. Sherwood Schwartz, the original creator of the successful Gilligan's Island TV series, co-authored the book with his son and long-time collaborator Lloyd J. Schwartz, so audiences can be sure of a zany good time, complete with Gilligan fumbling any chance of a rescue! Throw in fun music and lyrics by Sherwood Schwartz's daughter and son-in-law, Hobe Juber and Laurence Juber (best known as a guitarist with Paul McCartney's group Wings), and the show is a natural for Rover Dramawerks and their "theatre off the beaten path" mission.

Artistic Director Carol M. Rice will helm the "tale of a fateful trip," with musical direction by Patsy Sadowski and choreography by Nancy Roberts. The show runs June 5 - 28 at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in historic downtown Plano, and auditions will be announced soon for early April.

Tickets for Gilligan’s Island: the Musical are $15.00 on Thursdays and matinee and $18.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets may be ordered online or by calling 972-849-0358.
