Fort Worth developments coming along

Email Print Tell us your story Comment

Busy day today for those of us interested in the new urban developments going on in the Fort Worth Cultural District. First up, SoSeven, the development across from Montgomery Plaza that has so far built large numbers of townhomes, condos, and a hotel, is currently underway on the Shops & Lofts at SoSeven. This will be the development’s centerpiece, filling the land between 7th Street and the hotel with residential lofts, office space, and ground-floor retail. Phase I of the Shops & Lofts, currently under construction, will bring 55,000 square feet of retail space, 15,000 square feet of office space, and 72 residential lofts. Phase II, which will get underway next, will add an additional 75,000 square feet of retail space and 220 residential lofts.

SoSeven has finally started to announce some retail tenants, as well. The first announced tenants are:

Primo’s Bar & Grille

Vino Jean Michael

Performance Playground

“Bike Shop”

Hola! Tapas

Paciugo Gelato

Saint-Emilion

A few blocks west, the big Museum Place development has started making tenant announcements as well. Museum Place is an 11-acre development bringing 170,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, 130,000 square feet of office space, a new Post Office, 40 purchasable condos and 500 apartments.

There are still some generic names listed on the site plan, but some of the identifiable/notable new names are:

Aloft Hotels

7-Eleven (the Corner Store type without gas pumps)

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams

“The Market”

BoConcept

Potbelly

Design Within Reach

La Duni Latin Cafe

Something that looks like “Niedo” or “Viedo” or something, too blurry.

Something that looks like some sort of sushi place in the glassy Flatiron building. Ra?

Village Tavern

Celebrity Bakery

Duxiana

Dry cleaner

Barber shop

Florist

Legacy Bank

Domain (I assume this is the Domain that’s already on Camp Bowie, not the going-out-of-business Domain Furniture.)

Eddie V.’s Edgewater Grille

Note that some of these aren’t confirmed - any white space is still iffy in my book. Still gives an idea of where this thing is headed, though.

Now that things are rolling on the big Cultural District developments, I expect we’ll start to hear more news about tenants and such from here on out. So, what are your thoughts on these new Fort Worth retail additions?

Finally, I’d like to add that West and Clear reader Jeff was kind enough to forward these new details on to me. Thanks, Jeff!

UPDATE - Two more tenants have been identified for Museum Place: Ra Sushi and Nicolas, an Italian restaurant.
