— Middle school and high school science students with interests in engineering, chemistry, biology, physics and astronomy from Cooke, Denton, Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise Counties will participate in the Fort Worth Regional Science Fair March 3-4, hosted by the University of North Texas. The event will be held in the concourse of the UNT Coliseum, at the southeast corner of North Texas Boulevard and Highland Street.

“Over the years, the students competing in the fair have produced a variety of creative and interesting entries,” said Diana Mason, UNT associate professor of chemistry and director of the regional science fair. “We are proud to again host this fair, which is the oldest continuously running science fair in the state of Texas.”

Exhibit judging will be on March 3, with the winners announced March 4 at 6 p.m. The exhibit will be open to the public during the day on March 4.

The top entries in the fair will be entered in the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair in San Antonio in April and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Atlanta, Ga. in May.
