Truckdriver killed in accident on frontage road of George Bush Turnpike in Richardson

— A truck driver hauling a load of frozen food was struck and killed by a pickup truck that barreled right through a red light at 2:30 a.m. Monday night.

The trailer was driving on the frontage road of the George Bush Turnpike at the Waterview Parkway exit when the pickup drove right underneath the trailer, causing the truck driver to lose control and flip over. He died instantly. Richardson police shut down the frontage road, saying that it would take several hours to clean up a fuel leak and unload the trailer full of frozen foods.

Police found "quite a bit of alcohol" in the pick-up, says KRLD.

Richardson appears to already be going to hell in a handbasket in 2008, with the police having received more than 100 calls in 2008.

Wonder how many of those calls were UTD noise complaints.
