— The City of McKinney has recently scored a number of regional and national awards for print, advertising, and video communications. McKinneyInfo.mag, the city's quarterly print newsletter, took home two Bronze Quill Awards of Excellence at the Dallas International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Quill Awards ceremony in November at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. "We have vanilla, too," an advertising campaign developed for McKinney Main Street's annual Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank-off festival, was recognized with the Bronze Quill Award of Merit.

The Dallas Bronze Quill Awards are judged by a panel of business communicators from major corporations, agencies and other organizations who are members of other IABC chapters. McKinney's winning entries were judged on technical skills such as writing, editing and design and demonstration of strategic alignment, the creative process and measurable results.

In addition, McKinneyVision, which airs on Time Warner Cable channel 16 and streams live or in archived programming at www.mckinneyinfo.com, was recently recognized by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) with two Gold Ava Awards. The Ava Awards honor outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the conception, writing, direction, shooting, and editing of audio-visual materials and programs.

"McKinney: Unique by nature," which highlights the distinctive aspects of the nation's fastest-growing city, and a "McKinney Community News" feature on the making of the McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureau "Mr. McKinney" campaign received the awards.

"McKinneyVision continues to raise the bar for programming and content," said Communications and Media Manager Anna Folmnsbee. "We are very proud of our most recent recognition and will continue to produce material of the highest quality to keep residents and visitors alike informed about our unique city."
