Interview with Kurt Kleinmann, Founder and Artistic Director of Pegasus Theatre
Kurt Kleinmann shows that he can do it all. Not only is he the Artistic Director and Founder of Pegasus Theatre, but their newest comedy-murder-mystery, Full Moon Murders, was written by and is starring him. Pegasus Theatre is recognized for their spectacular productions in "Living Black & White" that follow the adventures of Harry Hunsacker, a would-be actor turned would-be detective.
Full Moon Murders
- When: Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, 8 p.m.
- Where: Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson
- Cost: $15 - $35
- Age limit: All ages
We start off by talking about how Kleinmann founded Pegasus Theatre and what place it has in the Dallas theater community. He also talks about why the company puts on one production a year. I ask him how the concept of "Living Black & White" and the character of Harry Hunsacker were generated. He talks about their relation to the detective films of the 1930’s and 40’s.
Since he wrote the show but is not directing, I ask him how much he gets involved during the rehearsal process. We end by talking about Full Moon Murders and how the idea for this show about werewolves originated.
Full Moon Murders runs from January 3 - January 27. Purchase tickets online or by calling 972-744-4650.
