UPDATED: UT Arlington student to compete against the Gladiators
You'd think the new batch of gladiators wouldn't have hair like this (left). But owing to tradition, or something, is this other guy (right), who looks like his name should be Conquistador.
25-year-old Bonnie Blanco, a UT Arlington senior, will be featured on the premiere episode of the new, revamped version of the "American Gladiators" television show at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, on NBC.
Blanco is an Iraqi War veteran in the Marines, and mother of two, too. Judging from her profile, baby Jesus gave her some beauty to go with all that brawn.
While in the military, Blanco won the “Strongest Warrior” competition.
UPDATE: Alas, Blanco was ultimately defeated on the premiere by another contestant. But hope for local glory continues, as as this S-T pieces says Adam Levin, a 29-year-old Bedford bartender at Gaylord Texan, will compete on a future episode.

Tom Urquhart, says:
Anyone have contact info for Blanco? I'd like to have her call in (or better, visit) for a talkstop on our show.
Thanks.

Mike Orren, says:
Sadly, she lost. (Watched my Tivo last night.) Bloodied herself up good on the Eliminator too.
