Neal Wilson, former Lewisville ISD athletic director, died Saturday
In October, Wilson was diagnosed with an advanced case of monocytic leukemia.
Neal Wilson had been involved with the Lewisville ISD since 1965, first as a junior high coach, moving steadily toward athletic director, a position he took in 1986. Flower Mound's football stadium was named after him in 2005 to honor his service to the distict's athletic program over the years.
In October, Wilson was diagnosed with an advanced case of monocytic leukemia. He lost his battle with the disease on Saturday morning. He turned 65 on December 28.
