Beer at Six Flags? One local columnist says, “go for it.”

"It's time to open this tap," writes Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy in this opinion piece posted today (Jan. 6). The tap to which he refers is the alcohol sales proposal put forward by Six Flags promoters; as background he details Arlington's history of pushing back against the tide of beer and wine (and cocktail) sales, singling out a recent-history Hooters alcohol sales controversy.
Which puts writer Kennedy in apparent opposition to Swiftian scribe Don Young, who expresses his own views on the topic elsewhere in our pages.

People in Arlington are also of the volition that the earth is flat and believe women who can think for themselves should be burned at the stake, not to mention the fact they possess one of the lowest literacy rates in the state and nation.
Im all for free enterprise, let the parks sell beer/wine/liquor, Disneys done it for years. Hell, other Six Flags parks have been doing it for years without any major issues. Only in North Texas are we having this idiotic conversation.
