Fort Worth council will put natural gas revenue in a trust fund
Nine-member board will oversee projected $972 million from Barnett Shale
FORT WORTH Half of the almost $1 billion from natural gas drilling in the Barnett Shale will go into a trust fund, the Fort Worth council decided yesterday. Revenue from drilling at public parks and DFW airport will go into separate accounts as required by law. The money in those non-trust accounts will be spent on long-term projects including infrastructure, equipment, and economic development.
