Chef Mickie Crockett leaving Trader Vic’s to join Consilient Restaurants
DALLAS Mickie Crockett is leaving her post as executive chef of hipster tiki haunt Trader Vic's to become general manager at Consilient Restaurants' The Porch. (Consilient recently experienced a departure by chef Nick Badovinus.)
Her last day at Trader Vic's will be January 20, whereupon she'll take some time off for vacation and traveling before starting her new post.

C'mon, you little hunka carved wood posing as a tabletop lantern, give us a smile.
"I loved working at Trader Vic's, and it's a tremendous place, but I was offered this great opportunity that I couldn't pass up," she says.
The restaurant recently secured spots on two top-10 lists: The Top 10 Restaurants of 2007 by the Dallas Morning News and a just-released 10 Hot Restaurants in Dallas/Fort Worth list by MSN's Cityguides.
"We hate that Mickie is leaving us but she got a great job, she'll get to be a general manager which was her dream," he says Trader Vic's manager Rusty Fenton. "We would not have been a top 10 restaurant if it wasn't for her."

Didn't Trader Vic's just reopen? And I like the fact that the manager gave her a compliment as she's leaving, that's class.

If they replaced "restaurant" with "bar" maybe it wouldn't be so difficult to keep reading this. Update to follow...
