UPDATED: Fort Worth jumps onto “Pull ‘Em Up,” anti-pant-sagging bandwagon
On Tuesday the Fort Worth City Council will hear a proposal (link to meeting agenda) by Councilmember Frank Moss on supporting the "Pull 'Em Up" campaign.

Naturally, the best way to avoid stereotyping kids is through billboards featuring stereotypical slang/rhymes and imagery.
The brainchild of Dallas Councilman Dwaine Caraway, the campaign uses billboards to encourage teens and adults to, yes, pull up their pants instead of sagging them.
Carraway had originally envisioned a city ordinance outlawing sagging but stopped short, mainly because of things like the U.S. Constitution or common sense.
A S-T article quotes Moss as saying that pants sagging prevents kids from getting jobs or being taken seriously and reduces them to stereotypes.
If the Fort Worth Council approves the proposal, billboards like the one above (located at 45 N & Lamar in Dallas) will be placed throughout the city.
UPDATE: the Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve joining the P'EU campaign. Councilmember Moss has confirmed the plan to put up the five billboards, stating that four of the five "should already be up."
"Another part of what we're doing," Moss said, "is working with Clear Channel to distribute posters and other information to businesses within the city. And hopefully we can have more billboards to come in the future."
The locations in Fort Worth are:
- I-35 north of Malta
- Berry St. east of Vaughn
- Evans Ave. south of Allen
- 4th St. west of Brents
- Long Ave. west of NW 35th
Pant sagging: best crime of the year? I know a guy who thinks so.

Did they fail to mention that not having a father can lead to similar issues as well? Bet ya they didnt, too un-pc to suggest that these young men in question lack serious role models in their community. No offense, but id rather see them focus their energies to mentoring them into being decent citizens than worrying about their pants drooping.

Wasn't it Aristotle who said that people can learn to be good citizens by rote, and by habit, instead of being truly virtuous?
Maybe the thinking is, if we can get them to look like respectable human beings, they'll start to act like respectable human beings.

For the record, Pavel is a relatively respectable human being..even though you couldn't tell if you saw him on the street...and you probably couldn't understand him if you tried conversing with him.

Kids started sagging their pants to emulate their fathers in prison fatigues. Mlk was a liar, plagiarist, and communist, and this is his American dream, sagging pants and forced bussing.

So, I guess Ft. Worth has eliminated poverty and solved their transportation mess and has otherwise eliminated all crime, and is now wondering what to do with all their free time. That's why they are concerning themselves with the state of their citizens' (and employers') pants?
