UPDATED: Primary voting to take place at 30 Tarrant County schools
Texas is rescheduling TAKS test to avoid conflict with primaries
Updated 12:40 p.m., January 16, 2008
March 4 polling places could include 30 schools in Tarrant County. But because of Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills testing on the same day, district officials don't want "academically unacceptable" campuses to be polling places, because voters could distract students.
UPDATED: TAKS testing has been rescheduled statewide so that students won't be distracted by voters at the polls for primary elections.
