Spiceman’s F.M. 1410 in Dallas bought a gram scale

Yes, that's right: No more running down to Jimmy's to weigh out truffles. Spiceman's F.M. 1410 bought a gram scale... not for truffles only... and we also have:

Huckleberries, fennel pollen, hearts of palm, sea beans, baby artichoke tulips, Louisiana citrus (ruby grapefruit, Meyer lemons, Minneola "honey" tangelos, sunburst tangerines

I was recently offered a good deal on some religious figurines from the Middle East, mostly statuettes of Mohammed and Moses but I'm afraid the market is so flooded with them that I wouldn't be able to turn a prophet. Sorry, my writers are still on strike and it seems Mother Nature is too, sometimes. Jose Rico finally showed up all haggard and wintered down but was quick to smile and chortle a "Que pasa, Tomas" as he crossed the threshold of F.M. 1410 with a few crates:

  • Arugula: dark green, turgid and frilly but don't be fooled by its lace, it wants to bite you
  • Asian Lolitas: sweet, petite greens of Mizuna, Tatsoi and Red Mustards
  • Carrots: but they were way too small, not even micro carrots
  • Micro greens
  • watercress.
  • Beauty-licious Lettuces: Lollo Rosso, Red Oak, Red Romaine, Green Romaine, Tango, Cocarde, Frisee

You know what I'm going to do next don't you? Look out! Coming in for a landing, ah hell, nothing for the Spice Craft to spin a good crop circle in. Not even spinach -- wait, I take that back, I have south Texas semi-savoy spinach that's very nice. Not much of a crop circle but that's winter for ya.

  • Tomatoes: Pecos, Texas vine-ripe small but very good; Pecos Heirloom, mostly Pink Lady, Purple Cherokee, segue Black Krim and Delicious; Florida yellow slicers
  • Mushrooms: retail mix and match; chanterelles; black trumpets; hedge hogs; yellow feet; FROZEN Porcini No. 1 grade/buttons; abalone; king trumpet oyster; shiitake, and more

Spiceman sez nite nite.

Yeah, sure. It's for weighing truffles.
