Runaway teenager population on the rise at Dallas County facility
An ebb of runaway teens has hit Dallas County's Letot Center, a co-educational short-term residential facility created in 1979 to provide aid and shelter to at-risk youth.
The DMN attributes the 27% rise in runaway teens seeking shelter at Letot to increased domestic violence and increased parental neglect, though increased population is also an obvious factor.
