SMU track wraps up first 2008 indoor meet

Friday

SMU runner Sierra Anderson won the 5,000m run in 18:18.03 at the Texas Tech Invitational as the SMU track team opened their indoor season on Friday, Jan. 18.

SMU also got strong showings from Samantha Means, who took third in the 1,000 run in 3:08.77, its distance medley relay of Ilyssa Pettigrew, Alexandria Smith, Kelsey Howard and Silje Fjortoft, which took second in the DMR in 12:34.52, and Lauren Kuhner, who took second in the weight throw at 15.80m.

Saturday

The SMU track & field team wrapped up its opening event of the season on Saturday, Jan. 19, with a pair of strong showings at the Texas Tech Invitational.

Mustang Samantha Means won the 3,000m in a time of 10:31.02, while Alexandria Smith took fourth in he 200m in 25.50.

SMU will return to the track next Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Arkansas Invitational.
