Antiques Roadshow, the long-running PBS appraisal show, will be shooting in Dallas this summer. On June 28, 2008, over 70 appraisers, host, and crew will descend on the city to place a value on residents' local treasures. Not everyone will be able to get in, though, so if you want to attend, you should apply for a ticket now.
Free tickets are available through a random selection process, and are distributed to those selected before the event. You can apply either online or by sending a postcard. The deadline for online ticket applications is 11:59 pm ET, Sunday, April 20, 2008. Postcard ticket applications must be postmarked by Saturday, April 5, 2008 and received by Saturday, April 19, 2008.
Only one application per household, either postcard or online will be accepted. Extra submissions will be discarded, and there is a two-ticket limit per household. If you are selected to receive tickets, they will be mailed to you approximately three weeks before the event date.
Antiques Roadshow is also looking for a few large pieces of furniture for the event. If you live within 50 miles of Dallas and have a large piece of furniture you'd like to submit, you can fill out an online submission or mail your submission. The deadline for submitting furniture online is 11:59 pm, Sunday, April 20, 2008. The deadline for receiving furniture submissions via mail is Saturday, April 19, 2008.
The actual appraisal event begins at 8 am on June 28, and ticket holders will be admitted every hour until 5 pm. The event will end when all ticket holders in line have been given an appraisal. Each ticket holder may bring two items for appraisal, but exceptions may be made for items in a collection. For more details, see the event's Frequently Asked Questions page. More detailed Information for the event, including driving and parking directions, will be available at the Antiques Roadshow website's 2008 Tour section beginning March 10, 2008.
